Painting Jesus. True story.

I’ve been wanting to write a special message for Christmas, and today I had an uplifting message: “Let your Light Shine”.

It is a few days before Christmas and I looked at the clock: 222. It has been happening a lot lately. I googled what it might mean. I read that 222 is a spiritual number with deep meaning. The Universe is giving you a message.

I thought of my angels and went onto YouTube and this video popped up. Continue reading “Painting Jesus. True story.”

Christmas. What it’s really about.

As this time of year approaches, I have a myriad of feelings. I don’t think I’m alone. Especially for those who are really struggling with the holiday for a range of reasons.

Today, I reflect on Saint Nicholas, the bishop from Turkey in the fourth century. He got the name “Saint Nick” for his kindness to sailors, merchants, archers, prostitutes and children; he is more known for his secret gift-giving to help the people struggling. There is not a lot of information on him other than he rescued a few women from prostitution, calming a sea for sailors, saving innocent soldiers from prosecution, and he rescued some children as well.  Continue reading “Christmas. Joy! Gratitude! Peace!

Gratitude is the healthiest of all human emotions. The more you express gratitude for what you have, the more likely you will have even more to express gratitude for.” —Zig Ziglar

I am sitting by my waterfall listening to some piano music. It is worship music. I am not a religious person, but I believe the Creator wants me to thank Him/Her for all I have. Continue reading “Joy! Gratitude! Peace!”

Happy Mother’s Day?

Ah, Mother’s Day. I had such a myriad of emotions. My son was coming home to see me from university. I am a mother. I’ve been a good mother. A protective mother. A loving mother.

But, my mother is still alive. She is alone. She won’t get my “Happy Mother’s Day” wish as she did for over fifty years. She won’t get a card. She won’t get her flowers. She won’t get her hug. She won’t be taken out to dinner. Continue reading “Happy Mother’s Day?”

“What have you done for your fellow man?”

No one has ever become poor by giving.” ―Anne Frank

This holiday will not be easy for me. It has been three years not speaking to my mother. And each year has been just fine celebrating Easter with my husband and son. My son has come home from university with friends who couldn’t get back themselves because of the distance with their families. The door has been open with us. We have also had good friends that come as well, but this year, they are in Florida.

My son has an important exam coming up after Easter, so it will be a quiet one for us. Continue reading ““What have you done for your fellow man?””

Songs – No More Bullying!

Music affects us. Deeply. And I thought it was important to post a few songs that can really help motivate and make us feel good. I will forget a few I’m sure.

Let me tell you if you are reading this: You are worthy. You are loved. Do not let anybody tell you differently. Do not let “bullies” get to you.

I was bullied… relentlessly. I know what it feels like. Stay strong! Continue reading “Songs – No More Bullying!”

Singing! How it helps heal.

Singing gave me enormous confidence. I could stand on stage, and I had no fear. I was no longer that child hiding in my closet.

—My Courage To Tell

I read recently how much music has an effect on us. Some more than others. I know it did for me.

When I was in my 20s, I sang. It was a very important time in my life. I had come a long way from hiding in my closet when I was a child. Continue reading “Singing! How it helps heal.”
