What Have You Done for Others?

No one has ever become poor by giving.

Being a Giver

Easter holidays are not easy for me. It has been a few years not speaking to my mother. And each year has been just fine celebrating holidays with my husband and son. My son has come home from university with friends who couldn’t get back themselves because of the distance with their families. The door has been open with us. We have also had good friends that come as well, but this year, they are in Florida.

My son has an important exam coming up after Easter, so it will be a quiet one for us.

Whenever I feel sad, I think of what I can do to “turn things around.” This year, I want to help others less fortunate than myself. We did this last Christmas as well.  So tomorrow,  we are loading up a grocery basket of food and delivering it to a safe house in my town. The women have fled abusive relationships with their children.

What better way for me (us) to celebrate Easter than to help some people less fortunate. (Isn’t that what Jesus taught us to do? Isn’t that what we are celebrating the holiday for?)

I will never get to see how appreciative they are. But I don’t care. I know. We all need to give a helping hand to others if we have a chance to do so.

Kindness and thinking of others

If you have read my book, you would know that I am not a religious person. I am spiritual, and I watch a lot of near-death experiences on YouTube. This one I have posted above was moving. “What have you done for your fellow man?”, this man was asked.

So I always ask myself, what I have done for others? Have I done enough?

I am grateful we could offer a little help to some others who are going through a tough time. Kindness matters.

May you all have a blessed Easter.

Peace.
